Climbing and yoga are complimentary to each other in variety of ways. They are both forms of meditative movement that keep the body and the mind healthy and happy. Using repetitive motions in climbing can wear the body out by using the same muscles over and over. Yoga can be helpful in creating balance in all the muscle groups. We do our best when we have balance between the right and left sides of the body and the front and back sides of the body, balance between engagement and relaxation. When we reach this state we can both build muscle and repair it. Increasing strength and flexibility will be helpful on the yoga mat, on the climbing wall, and in life outside of the gym.
